The WSCC Honors Program: Creating a Fellowship of Learning

Join The WSCC Honors Program!

The WSCC Honors Program creates opportunities for energetic, committed students to engage in challenging coursework and projects.

Honors students enjoy

  • smaller class sizes and greater intellectual rigor
  • research opportunities beyond those available to other students
  • opportunities for service learning
  • more personalized advising
  • additional assistance with the transfer process
  • seminars and colloquia where the Honors community and invited guests meet for discussion, debate, and fun

Stream-lined Application Process!

  • Applications accepted on a rolling basis
  • Submit a completed application (with a brief essay component) to the The WSCC Honors Program Coordinator
  • One letter of recommendation (this requirement is waived if you meet with at least one member of The WSCC Honors Program Committee)
  • Applicants should have at least a 3.0 GPA and/or good scores on ACCUPLACER or ACT

  • English Composition I
  • English Composition II
  • Introduction to Film
  • Introduction to Sociology
  • Introduction to Physics
  • Introduction to Biology

(NOTE: These courses will not be offered in both semesters, so please inquire about their availability)

Minimum Requirements to become a WSCC Honors Program Graduate:

  • Students who begin the Program in their first year, must take 4 – 6 Honors Courses (or complete 4 – 6 Honors Option projects) for a total of 12 – 18 credit hours
  • Students who begin the Program in their second year, must take 2 – 4 Honors Courses (or complete 2 – 4 Honors Option projects) for a total of 6 – 12 credit hours
