WSCC PTA Program Receives Reaccreditation
MARIETTA, OH (February 24, 2017)— Washington State Community College (WSCC) Physical Therapy Assistant Program recently received notification of its continued accreditation from Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
“The reaccreditation wasn’t unexpected,” said Dr. Dyani Stengel, WSCC’s PTA Program Director. “We have an exemplary program with a staff and curriculum that makes our graduates among the best.”
The PTA program at WSCC boasts 100% Post graduation employment rate and 92% pass rate on national licensure exam. “These statistics are among the best in the state,” proclaimed Stengel. “We have a fantastic program that outshines programs found at larger universities.”
Accreditation is a process that WSCC has successfully navigated since the launch of the program in 1997. The Commission’s decision to continue WSCC’s accreditation is based on an annual report submitted by The College that demonstrated proof of compliance with all state requirements.
“While the process of reaccreditation can be stressful, it results in assurance,” said Stengel. “It’s assurance to our students, our graduates and employers that we are teaching to professional standards.”
The two-year program is currently accepting applications through March 17, however enrollment in this program is on a selective basis as they only accept the top 20 students each year. For more information about WSCC’s PTA program, visit wscc.edu or call Dr. Stengel at 740.885.5701.
